Before we start, a special shout out to Boot Corp, who submitted a team at 7:59:35 yesterday. Submitting a team less than half a minute before the deadline is some next-level procrastination, and I am very impressed.

This week was not especially nice for the 69 teams that chose Morgan. She was the sixth most popular pick this season, and she provided only four points before her early exit. Tough luck, all of you with Morgan on your team- including me.

Champions, Outcasts, and Final Boss Leagues

Now that I’ve got some time to devote to this, I’ll give an explanation for those who don’t already know. Champions League is a draft-based league that’s reserved for the most successful of our fantasy players. You have to win your way in, and it’s extremely difficult to stay in once you’ve made it in- unless you’re me, since I have the all-time record for Champions League seasons played and points scored. But if you’re playing in our Pick-4 league and land one of those coveted top four spots, you can get an invite to next season’s Champions League.

Because all he does is win, LAVAR MOTHAFUCKING BALL is in the lead in Champions League, riding Chelsea (phrasing!) and LaMichael to the top of the standings. XLPelican loses a player this week, joining Saturday Night Palsy and Matt among the walking wounded. Jersey Luck sits in second place, followed by my real life human friend Friend Chooser.

Of course, Champions League isn’t the only draft-based league we have. We also have the Outcasts League, with an arcane and mysterious process for determining participation (though that will soon change- more on that in a minute). This season, participants in Outcasts League were chosen because they are haunted by the ghosts of fantasy Survivor past. Thus, the person that got last place in our first-ever fantasy league- i and 1- has returned for this season’s Outcasts League. He’s joined by bassmanxvi, who managed a legendary zero-point performance in his only Champions League appearance, a stat I never get tired of mentioning because it’s so insanely unlikely.

EmAndScoutInBK and Taako are in the top two spots here, replicating their success in the Pick-4 league, with Storm of Cuteness in third place. Maritimer loses a player this week, joining Mark and Snsetblaze, who each lost a player last week.

This season, we also created one additional league. Invitations went out to the people with the highest total number of comments on our site that weren’t already in draft-based leagues (Note: Barbara Anderson is sitting out of fantasy leagues this season, so she didn’t get an invite). This league came to be after a proposal from Blurry Denzel, who suggested a Final Boss League. Matt and I then workshopped a few ideas before finally deciding on this: The winner of the Final Boss League will take over as Outcasts League commissioner next season. That person will be able to determine the invite list for the league, and may even get to rename it. Want an Outcasts League invite next season?
