Staff Predictions
Andy
Rick is the most obvious target and can’t win immunity forever. I have only correct prediction this season. Gonna let this one ride.
Brad
So if I were to piggyback off of Matt’s MvGX comparison, I’d say that Rick is the Jay of this season: bold personality who made it further than they probably should have given their threat level and dwindling alliances. And what happened to Jay? Well he didn’t get voted out at this point in the game, but he went home is the point. Rick has to go at some time, and frankly, three immunities in a row is gilding the lily. I’ll take the field there and anticipate that they all turn on Rick.
Emma
As has been discussed on the podcast and beyond, this season seems to be at a point where everyone is just targeting threats. Per what we’ve seen on screen, Rick Devens is now considered the biggest threat on the board and unless he wins another immunity, I think the others take action. If he does win immunity, it’s probably Ron or Aurora, but I’m not allowed to have a contingency plan, so Devens it is.
John
Look, I only just watched last week’s episode, so I don’t have a lot of time to put into this theory. I’m not going to try to work up some elaborate machinations out of whole cloth and pretend that the sneaky editors have chosen not to tell us the real deal. I’m going to use the one bit of canonical information that has been a fantastic prediction device for me this season: Kama wants returnees gone.
“But John, you fucking idiot,” you say, “there are no returning players left to vote out.” Fair point, but I say Rick now counts as a returning player. And now his watch has ended. Valar morghulis, Rick.
Mark
As I said on the podcast, I am HERE for poetic justice, and Ron harping about family visits all season means that now the family visit is here, his story is complete. Add in a dash of threatening and a hint of fake advantages—which are always used when someone is safe, yes indeed— and I’m fairly confident Ron is gonna be teaching viral video dances to everyone on Extinction soon. A for effort, though…
Matt
On the show I was floating Aurora, but I gotta be honest, Mark won me over. The delicious irony of Ron going home after the family visit that he fought so hard to get people to blindly follow him to is too sweet for words. Ron meets his loved one, has a great day, thinks he is running the game, and then boom blindsided. Also Rick keeps winning immunity challenges.
