You’re reading a definitely new intro that was definitely on this post this whole time. Definitely.
Staff Predictions
Andy
A big part of Elizabeth’s sales pitch to get rid of Jessica was to disconnect Bi and Carl. Now, it’s possible, probable even, that it was just a sales pitch to save her friend Lyrsa. But what if we took it at face value? If that’s the case, why turn around and get rid of one of the free agents you just created? And also, if this is a window into her strategy, did she not just work with another group of three that might need breaking up in Gabby, Christian, and Nick? For that group, the obvious spoke is Christian, but seeing as he’s the only person on the tribe so far to prove useful in challenges (both the slide puzzle and the first immunity challenge puzzle) and seems to have built up a bit of plot armor, I don’t think it’s him. But Gabby seems fairly expendable. Hell, given how paranoid she was when Elizabeth went to work with her, I could see her being an alliance liability. Gabby‘s usefulness is done. Time for her to go.
Natalie looked like a first boot heading into the season. She definitely looked like one after one week. She SUPER looks like one now. Hell, she’s only one week away from “how about we just lose the next one guys?” territory. You know what would be hilarious? Jeremy or Mike or whoever comes up with a plan to save Natalie, only for her to actively fuck it up for them and send herself home. Not hard to picture, is it? (Note: if I’m Jeremy, there’s NO WAY I ever try to stick my neck out for her after last week).
Brad
If the last vote is any indication, Bi, Davie, and Carl are on the outs. Gabby isn’t flipping from the recent majority if her paranoia is anything to go by. That means Christian isn’t moving, and Nick isn’t about to put his neck on the line for a tie vote. No need to analyze potential idol scenarios here; Carl will be seen as the most expendable.
Natalie Cole until further notice.
Emma
David: Since the people who voted for Lyrsa were among the more physically fit (in theory) members of the tribe, things could be up in the air. But it’ll probably just be Carl.
Goliath: Might as well keep picking Natalie until proven otherwise.
John
Goliaths: It’s so obviously Natalie. I could come up with some crazy elaborate scenario wherein it ends up being someone else, so that’s exactly what I’m going to do.
Jeremy and Mike know that Dan has the idol. They could easily just go along with the group and get a near-unanimous vote for Natalie, but the time to strike is when everyone is complacent. Since Dan hasn’t told them about the idol, Jeremy approaches the group and says they need to split the votes between Mike and Natalie, just in case Natalie has an idol. The group of six agrees to the split. With a 3-3 split, they’ll need 4 votes to blindside the majority. Enter Johnny Duplicity, Mayor of Blindside Town. Jeremy, Natalie, Mike, and Johnny Mundo pull off the impressive pre-merge blindside and send Dan home, idol in hand.
Davids: If the same group that won last week’s vote holds, I say they take out Carl. Bi and Davie seem more valuable to the tribe, and Davie in particular seems like the type that could flip to the other side fairly easily and without many consequences.
Mark
Davids: With the cool kids on the outs, I think Bi’s lack of strategizing and self awareness could ruin her chances to make her the next target. Davie has an idol, and I think he would protect Carl if need be. And since this tribe is hopelessly outmatched, strength isn’t really a key factor. Bye bye Bi.
Goliaths: I’m just going to keep predicting Natalie, because it has to happen SOMETIME. My fear is that this tribe won’t lose for weeks and we’ll be dealing with the same (hilarious) story over and over. But for now, I’m enjoying it.
Matt
David: Like I said on the podcast, I think the one person that is going to have a tough time getting over being beat last week is Carl. He will think that his relative strength will save him and not worry about making nice, but this group will be more interested in ousting the dissenter. So Carl will follow Jessica home.
Goliath: Natalie is the obvious answer. But Natalie is a little too obvious if you know what I mean. You see Natalie pisses people off, she doesn’t do a lot around camp, she doesn’t seem to be helping in challenges and she has shown she has no intention to change. So how could it not be Natalie? Because someone is going to get the great idea that they can haul Natalie all the way to the end and use her as a goat. I am not saying this is a good idea (it is not), but it is an idea. So instead, the focus will fall on the idol finder, Dan. But, as is common in Survivor, his relative good shape and youth will save him (as will the fact he is a dude), so the person he is closest to will take the fall instead. Bye Kara (the person, not the dog).
