Brad shares the best bonus scenes from the previous episodes of Survivor 42.
So two weeks ago, I posted on a Wednesday, and Saturday Night Palsy had this to say:
Well due to a 2.5-hour Better Call Saul on Monday and two hours of grad school on Tuesday, the late Bonus Content posts are back, baby! Next time, I’ll post on a Thursday, I don’t care!
In the words of the incomparable Ginger Minj, let’s get … this over with.
This Week In Secret Scenes
”Shorts On, Fins Out”
This is a camp life scene, straight down the middle. Romeo talks about the rain, Rocksroy goes fishing, and the tribe overcooks some octopus. The highlight is that Rocks speared an octopus at all given the measly fish that players often bring back to camp.
All I take from this scene though is that I’m pretty sure I’m supposed to watch My Octopus Teacher, but I have no clue where that’s streaming.
”Daniel’s A Sinking Ship”
Any analysis of this scene is moot since Daniel departed two weeks ago, but it sure is a fun juxtaposition to have Daniel say that he thinks his tribe largely doesn’t care that he sits out every challenge, immediately followed by Lydia saying that Daniel is sus as hell for sitting out every challenge.
I also think that Daniel’s No. 1 Rule (Don’t get med-evaced) is much funnier if you adopt the headcanon, as I have, that he had this rule before he even injured his shoulder.
”Now I Am Gonna Be Going Balls To The Wall”
Not much cooking here beyond the fact that Jonathan apparently can’t put up a tarp singlehandedly?

”I Just Wanted To Look Out And Reflect”
All I can say here is that before you watch this clip, you should smoke something that would make you wonder if broccoli are trees or if you’re a potato or something. Then press play.
”Smells Like Parchment”
Romeo is scared of Treemail. That’s about it. The clips aren’t great this week, but I will say that I am grateful that this week’s post is so easy to write.
”Store-Bought Is Fine”
I am disappointed that there was not a Secret Scene of the castaways coming up with their contrived merged tribe name. Maybe next week. This scene features a lot of Maryanne, and that’s probably all I need to say for you to decide if you want to watch it or not.
Brad (formerly known as Taako from Teevhii) has watched every season live but was too young to remember the first ten seasons (and is only saying that to make you all feel bad). He treats Wednesday nights like a religious observance and wonders if he can finagle that into a tax benefit.
